The Grand Slam Tee is a cute button up tee inspired by a baseball jersey. The tee is knit flat from the top down. It has a stockinette body with the option for some bust and waist shaping, and a button band worked at the same time. It features a V neckline, and a curved hem with a short ribbed edge and an I-cord bind off. Seamless set-in sleeves are worked using short rows in a contrasting colour. The contrast colour is also used for a crochet slip stitch detailing down the front button band edge. It is a size inclusive design, written in 10 sizes, every 4 inches / 10 cm from 30-66 inches / 75-165 cm finished upper bust, with an easily customizable full bust. It is intended to fit with 2-6 inches / 5-15 cm of positive ease and sit at a cropped length (length can be altered to your preferences).

Finished tee upper bust (at end of yoke section) of:
30 (34, 38, 42)(46, 50, 54)(58, 62, 66) inches / 75 (85, 95, 105)(115, 125, 135)(145, 155, 165) cm
To fit actual upper bust of:
24-28 (28-32, 32-36, 36-40)(40-44, 44-48, 48-52)(52-56, 56-60, 60-64) inches / 60-70 (70-80, 80-90, 90-100)(100-110, 110-120, 120-130)(130-140, 140-150, 150-160) cm
Estimated finished tee full bust (can be modified during body increases) of:
30 (34, 39, 44)(48, 52, 56)(60, 64.75, 68.75) inches / 75 (85, 97.5, 110)(120, 130, 140)(150, 162, 172) cm
Note: The sizes reflect the FINISHED upper bust measurements in inches / cm of the tee, and listed below you can see the recommended actual upper bust range for each size. The tee is designed for 2-6 inches / 5-15 cm of positive ease. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your upper bust and add 2-6 inches / 5-15 cm to find the closest size. If your upper and full bust measurements fall into different sizes, you should choose size based on upper bust and shoulder width, as the additional increases in the body to the full bust measurement are easily adjustable. My sample is knit with about 3 inches / 7.5 cm of positive ease (Size 3 (with some waist shaping) on a 35 inch / 87.5 cm upper bust, 36.5 inch
The full bust and waist measurements of this tee are quite customizable, so the upper bust and shoulder width are the best numbers to choose size based off of. Once you join the front and back sections, you can work increases or decreases to fit your full bust, as well as bust darts and waist decreases as needed.

A great commercial alternative is Knitpicks Swish DK!
Yardage required:
Yardages listed below are based on the recommended lengths of the body and sleeves and estimated full bust measurement with no shaping. See schematic for those measurements.
Estimated yardage / meters - MC (body):
380(430, 525, 575)(615, 690, 745)(810, 890, 970) yds / 347 (393, 480, 526)(562, 631, 681)(741, 814, 887) meters
Estimated yardage / meters - CC (sleeves and surface slip stitching):
137 (143, 161, 218)(240, 255, 278)(310, 353, 380) yds / 125 (131, 147, 199)(219, 233, 254)(283, 323, 347) meters
Additional yardage / meters per inch / 2.5 cm:
24(27, 31, 35)(38, 41, 45)(48, 51, 55) / 22 (25, 28, 32)(35, 37, 41)(44, 47, 50) meters
Note: Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended measurements, plus a 5% buffer. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any body or sleeve length modifications. The yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend buying extra in case you require more yardage.
