The Market Raglan is a DK raglan version of my best selling Market Henley design! It has a crew neck with short row shaping, and is worked top down with compound raglan shaping (increases concentrated at the beginning and end of the raglan section), as well as some optional additional increases worked in the body to increase to a larger full bust measurement if desired. The collar, sleeves and bottom edge are worked in 1x1 ribbing. The pattern has options for waist shaping and bust darts if desired. It is a size inclusive design, written in 9 sizes, every 4.5 inches / 11.5 cm from 29.75-66.25 inches / 74.5-165.5 cm finished bust. It is intended to fit with 1-6 inches / 2.5-15 cm of positive ease and sit at a slightly cropped length (length can be altered to your preferences).

Note: The sizes reflect the FINISHED bust measurements in inches / cm of the sweater, and listed below you can see the recommended actual bust range for each size. The sweater is designed for 1-6 inches / 2.5-15 cm of positive ease. To determine the size you wish to knit, measure your bust and add 1-6 inches / 2.5-15 cm to find the closest size. If you have a large difference between upper and full bust, you may wish to choose size based on upper bust, as the pattern has the option to add additional increases during the beginning of the body if desired. My sample is knit with about 2.75 inches / 7 cm of positive ease (Size 3 on a 36 inch / 90 cm bust and 30 inch / 75 cm waist).
Needles recommended:
4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7 (or size needed to obtain gauge) - main body
4 mm / US 6 / UK 8 (or one size down from the main needle) - ribbing
Cord length to match your bust measurement as well as 9-16 inch / 22.5-40 cm cord for the sleeves/collar (or DPNs or 32-40 inch / 80-100 cm cord for the magic loop method).
Gauge:
Using 4.5 mm / US 7 / UK 7 (body) needles and working in waffle stitch (see next page) in the round. There is a section of short rows for the neck shaping which is worked flat, so you may wish to swatch flat as well to make sure your gauge remains the same.

Using 4 mm / US 6 / UK 8 (ribbing) needles and working in 1x1 ribbing in the round.

Note: Yardage is an approximation and is calculated using the recommended length (see schematic) and no waist shaping, plus a 5% buffer. Allow for extra yardage if choosing to do any body or sleeve length modification. The yardage can vary depending on your gauge and knitting, so I always recommend buying extra in case you require more yardage. Most testers used 0-5% less than the estimates listed above, except for those that added significant length.
