This pattern is for a beautiful worsted weight garter stitch shawl/wrap with fade sections between each colour. I chose to make mine a fade with 5 different complimentary skeins, but you could customize yours and make it solid, or use more or less colours for the fade. There are two fade options for this design, one with 5 equal width sections (like my sample) and one with equal yardage sections (longer sections for the ends, thinner section for the center).

Size:
~65 inches wingspan, ~25 inches in depth (blocked measurements, no tassels)

Needles required:
US 7/4.5 mm with a 32 inch or longer cord
May need other size needles to meet gauge
I used Kollage Square circular needles, which are ergonomic and have really nice sharp points!

Gauge:
18 sts x 26 rows = 4 x 4 inches (garter, wet blocked)
18 sts x 32 rows = 4 x 4 inches (garter, unblocked)
Gauge is not crucial for this test knit, since the size can be a bit bigger/smaller and it won’t really affect fit like a garment, but you should try to get close to this so your yardage and size wont be too off!

Yarn required:
Any worsted weight yarn you can get gauge with
I used Leo & Roxy Merino Worsted (100% Superwash Merino, 113g/210yds) in Meredith, Spruce, Oasis, Great Big Sea, and King’s Treasure

Yardage required:
5 skeins (or ~715 yards total for the shawl and ~75 yards total for the 3 tassels)
Equal width sections you’d need 63/173/240/170/65 yds per colour for your 5 skein fade
Equal yardage would be about 145 yds per colour
Tassels will use ~25 yds per tassel, and could be mixed with all the leftover yarn or done to match the section they will attach to. I made mine with the center one being a mix of the 3 center sections, and my end ones matching their section.

Yardage is an approximation, and is based on my sample and the testers samples. I wanted to do equal width sections and use up the middle skein fully so I based my size on that. You could go a little smaller if your skein yardage is a bit less. Allow for extra/less yardage if choosing to modify the size.
